FAQ

  • I forgot my library card number/PIN number, how can I find them?

Your library card number (also referred to as username) is the entire sequence of numbers (with no spaces or dashes) on the back of your library card.  If you need to retrieve your library card number, please call 513-398-2711 during operating hours to speak with a library staff member. We will need to verify some information on your account before we can provide that information.

Your pin number (also referred to password) defaults to the last 4 numbers of your phone number.  If this does not work, please call the Library for a password reset.

  • I lost my library card. How do I get a new card?

Contact the library to report the card lost. You can get a replacement card by visiting the library and presenting identification.  There is a $1.00 charge to replace a lost library card

  • What do I need to use a Library computer

You will need to have your library card number and PIN

  • What if I am not receiving my email/telephony notices from the library

Please contact the library at 513-398-2711 during operating hours to speak with a staff member to ensure we have the correct email / phone number for your account.  You can also check your account to review the email / phone on your account to ensure it is correct by logging in to your account [link to account login screen]

If this information is correct, please make sure that you have not marked the Library’s email as spam. Be sure to add masonplcir@masonpl.org to your contacts.

Make sure your email account is not out of storage space or deactivated, which will stop you from receiving email notices.

  • What if I have fees on my account?

If you have been charged  the replacement cost for a long overdue item(s), and you still have the item, simply return the item(s) as soon as possible to have the replacement cost for that item(s) removed from your account.

If you owe more than $12.00 in fees, you may not checkout any more items or use Library internet computers until the fees are paid to under $12.00.

The Library uses a collection agency to aid in recovering lost materials and fees. Please return items and/or pay for lost or damaged items in a timely manner to avoid an additional $10 collection agency fee.

  • What if I lost or damaged an item?

If an item is lost or damaged beyond repair (as determined by Library staff), you will be charged for its replacement (the price the Library paid for the item), plus a $5.00 processing fee.
