Does the Library accept donations of books and other materials?
In order to provide our patrons with the best materials possible, the Mason Public Library accepts the following donations in clean, usable condition:
- Fiction
- Non-Fiction (if not outdated)
- Children’s books
- Paperbacks
- DVDs/CDs
- Vinyl Records
All donations are appreciated, but the Library CANNOT accept the following materials:
- Damaged items, including those with:
- Stains
- Mildew
- Torn or missing pages or covers
- Wet or musty pages
- Magazines, newspapers, pamphlets, or Reader’s Digests
- Textbooks
- Reader’s Digest Condensed books
- Encyclopedias older than 3 years
- VHS and audio cassette tapes
- Obsolete or outdated materials including:
- Career Guides
- Computer manuals
- Financial materials
- Price guides
- Scientific data or manuals
- Technical manuals
- Telephone books
- Travel guides
